Many top websites began losing ratings snippets in Google starting Feb 17th according to our Open SERPs Project dataset that analyzes 100K commercial keywords daily:
The biggest losers in terms of sheer numbers were Yelp (-74%), Facebook (-89%), TripAdvisor (-84%), Edmunds & KBB. Even Apple didn’t survive the purge, with it’s ratings snippets down 96%. So far IMDB, Amazon, Indeed.com, Car&Driver, Walmart & FoodNetwork have kept their ratings stars. We will see if that holds, or if the cuts will continue.
